Beautiful You

Stampin' Up! Beautiful You

It’s a new stamp set from Stampin’ Up!’s Occasions catalog! This is a great set that can be used for many sentiments. I’ve seen a lot of watercolor done with these stamps, but I really wanted to break out my color pencils.

Stampin' Up! Beautiful You

Simple cards to color and I didn’t want to add a lot of embellishment to keep the focus on the image.
Stampin' Up! Beautiful You

Lady in red, I used 5 different shades to color in her dress.

She looks so fluid, so I choose blue to look like water.

    1. Thanks Jenny! I used Prismacolor colored pencils. I used several shades of each color and kept layering them heavier, starting with the dark color first. You have to keep going over to blend the colors and press fairly hard.

    1. For the skin I used cream and peach colored pencils and blended the two to create shading. The colored pencils can be used on colored paper because the are waxy.

  1. Have you tried Stampin up pencils yet? I haven’t and have not seen anyone else do anything as fabulous as yours yet either. I am waiting for mine to arrive in my next order. So will try the darker paper. Thanks

    1. I haven’t tried Stampin’Up! Watercolor pencils yet, but have seen a couple of nicely colored ones on white paper. There’s not as many colors to choose from for shading, so it’ll take some practice. You’ll have to let me know how they work on the darker paper.

  2. Really beautiful! My favorites of all the ones I’ve seen and saved….which are quite a few!

Beautiful coloring. The pencils take a lot of practice.

  3. Outstanding coloring! Really beautiful job. I love colored pencils on kraft. Thanks so much. You even made me want this previously rejected (in my mind) stamp set. Saw you posted on Pinterest.

  4. I had not thought to color on Kraft with pencils it is stunning. Thank you for sharing all your methods and the link to the wafer dies. I must try this and make several. Thank you, thank you.

      1. LOVE thesr cards! What blender pencil did you use? Is it something specific to Prisma colored pencils? Also, would you have a link to the youtube vudeo you originally watched showing the coloring on kraft? Thanks!

  5. I’ve been looking at all the beautiful cards others have made with this set. But your’s caught my eye because of the Kraft paper. I love making cards with Kraft paper. I guess I am on my way to Michaels to pick up a pack of Prisma Color pencils. Do you know if the set comes with a blender pencil or do I need to purchase one separately? Or can I use the blender pens from SU?
